Ethics and the questions of values — what we consider important and why — are inseparable. The Centre for Ethics of the University of Tartu explores the topic of ethics and values both as a part of research and teaching activities and as a part of the wider aim to contribute to the development of the Estonian society as it reflects upon the theme of ethics and values.

Good School

The Centre for Ethics of the University of Tartu and its numerous collaborators were motivated to develop the good school model in order to demonstrate that the league tables based on examination results are one-sided and can be harmful for the development of schools and cooperation between schools.

The aim of the good school model is to describe different aspects of a good school and to find the criteria that indicate that a school actually deals with these aspects.
